Believe it or not, it has been seven years since I closed my Sports Autographs Page. While cleaning some old hard drives, I found the remnants of my web site and decided to upload it back on the Internet. Here you will find all of my successes and failures along with over 4450 scanned images of autographs from a wide range of sports. By viewing this web
site, you acknowledge that some of the addresses
listed are out of date and may be inaccuate, and that the
information and images shown are for educational purposes only. Mac Maroon ![]() Randy Carlyle, Phil Housley and Teemu Selanne represented the Winnipeg Jets at the 44th NHL All-Star Game at the old Montreal Forum on February 6th, 1993 When the team left Winnipeg back in 1996, it was like my heart was ripped out of my chest, and I have had that empty feeling ever since. The Jets were "my" team, and even though hockey is my passion, how could I cheer for any other NHL team? Now that the NHL has offically approved the sale and relocation of the Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg, it's been a dream come true! While I was not one of the lucky ones to get season tickets, or to get on the waiting list for that matter, I will still try my hardest to at least get to see a couple of games this season at the MTS Centre. Even if I can't see them in person, I'm just thrilled to have an NHL team back in Winnipeg! GO JETS GO! I
have been using a free service to host my web site, but I have been
finding that from time-to-time, it is either very slow or not running
at all. So I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a web host
for my site. Now that I have moved everything over, things are
much quicker and I don't have to worry about down time.I have spent much of this past weekend checking all of the baseball addresses on my web site, including the ones for Spring Training.
Most of the address changes occurred in the Indepedent Leagues,
as three leagues merged to create a super-league (of sorts).I
have a mailbox down in Grand Forks for all of my American requests.
It was 5x5 in size, but I was finding if a player sent me
anything other than my index cards, like a photo, the people at the
post office would not put it in my mailbox, but hold on to it until I
arrived. Unfortunately, they only hold on to it for two weeks and
then they return to the sender, and I go down every four-to-six weeks,
so I miss a lot of extra stuff. Not only that, from time to time
I find all sorts of flyers and even a phone book crammed in my box, so
there really wasn't much room for my mail.Enough was enough, so I broke down and got an 11x11 "drawer" and now I should not have a problem with my mail being sent back, bent, or crammed in my box. It costs a lot more, but in the end I think it will be worth it. I am sending out my Spring Training requests to the new box, so it will be interesting to see what happens. A LITTLE BEHIND IN REPORTING SUCCESSES I have been so busy getting everything ready for Spring Training, I haven't been posting any of my successes and failures. I should be getting around to them starting after next week when I get back from my trip to Minnesota for the long weekend! This season, I thought I would try something different for hockey. I decided to write to all 210 players from the 2010 NHL™ Draft. All the letters have been hand written and I have mailed out 180 of them already. I'm waiting for some stamps to arrive from Finland and Sweden so I can mail most of the rest. As the autographs arrive, I will be posting them in order of their draft selection, so when you visit the HOCKEY section of my web site, I will have pages for each round of the draft, and hopefully many successes. Did you know, as of Saturday, July 2nd, 2011....
* My success rate is based on those athletes who signed my index cards. Those that did not sign my index cards but sent a signed item (sports card, photo, or promotional) are not included. Hello, my name is Mac Maroon and I would like to welcome you to my sports autographs web site. I have been collecting "through the mail" off and on for the last twelve years now. The reason why I set up this site was to show which players sign through the mail, and which ones don't. Visit my various SUCCESS pages and see which players were nice enough to take the time and sign for me. I sent each of them two 3x5 index cards to sign. You can take a look at the autographs by clicking on each players name. Go take a look at my FAILURES page and see which players were too busy to sign. I realize that some players don't have the time to sign for their fans, so I understand, but it still is disappointing. Are you looking for the team address of your favorite player? Why not stop by the ADDRESSES page where I have listed the addresses to many baseball, basketball, football, and hockey leagues, as well as addresses for golf and auto racing. Check out the newest page, where you can find LINKS to related sports and autograph web sites. You can even add your own! Why not join CLUB MAC to post your successes, failures, addresses, news, tips, or anything else relating to autograph collecting. Have a question about collecting sports autographs you would like answered? Why not check out the ASK MAC page, where I have listed the most frequently asked questions, and have answered them to the best of my ability! Grab a five year old "National Geographic" magazine and visit the WAITING ROOM to see the players I am waiting to hear from. Hopefully they are on their way, and not lost in the mail. Thank you very much for visiting my site. I hope that you enjoy your time here. Mac Maroon To the best of my knowledge, the information contained on this web site is as correct as possible. I collect autographs for fun but I am not an expert, so please inform me if you find any inaccuracies. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Some of the scanned photos and index cards found on this web site have been digitally altered. This was done to clean up some of the bends and folds that occurred in the mail. I hope you will understand. I am sorry to say that I do not have any home addresses of athletes or celebrities. Almost all of my successes have come from using the addresses found on my web site. Thank you! This web site is best viewed at 800x600 using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. |
